2010 CSA Update:

We are currently full for the 201o season. This season we are unable to serve as ‘large’ of a group as we have in the past. We have chosen to focus on finding land and diggin’ in roots for ourselves. We are currently working with some great professionals to make this a reality for us. We encourage you to email us your information so that we can contact you will seasonal offerings and our future CSA. Thanks for supporting us in this huge undertaking!

Farmers markets, buying clubs, and good ol’ work parties are ways in which farms are supported by community. Largely though, CSA has come to symbolize “farm membership”.

At our farm, we sell the majority of our produce through farm subscriptions.  Each winter families and individuals purchase a share of the coming seasons harvest. This helps us out a lot! Winter is when we are buying all the stuff we need to grow the food: compost, seeds, more seeds, irrigation, maintenance and repairs, and new boots!

Early August's Bounty

Early August Bounty: New Potatoes, Green Beans, Rainbow Chard, Summer Squash, Cucumbers, Lettuce, and Basil.

A CSA is a commitment between an eater and the farmer; as a member, you purchase a share upfront and as the farmer, we do our very best to provide you with a basket of well balanced produce through the end of the season. There are risks involved that we have NO control over. Weather, pest pressures, and disease can all wreak unsuspected havoc on a crop.  By growing climate adapted and pest resistant varieties we do our best to overcome these obstacles. Even then, there are times when we will lose a crop or it will be buggier than usual.  While unfortunate, those unforeseeable loses are precisely why we love farming so much; it puts us in touch with something so much larger than ourselves.  Please remember that we are members of this CSA as well.
